Whilst results vary between users, there have been a number of clinical studies completed with the device, with testing focussed around improvements in dark spots/pigmentation, the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, and improvements in tactile roughness, leading to smoother skin. You’ will likely start to see skin rejuvenation results with your Tria FRX in as little as 2 weeks. Wrinkles and fine lines will typically begin to be less visible after 4-6 weeks, and you'll get optimal results with radiant, younger-looking skin after the full 8-week course of treatments. At this time, 89% of users see smoother skin and improved overall appearance and 80% see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.*

The Tria FRX is clinically proven to provide clinical grade results, treating the multiple signs of ageing from the comfort and convenience of your own home. Our innovative laser technology uses the same non-ablative fractional lasers that professionals and dermatologists use in their clinics, condensed into a handy, at-home device.
The Tria FRX should be used for an initial 8 weeks, treating nightly. Treatment time is between 2 and 10 minutes, depending on the setting. After this treatment period, you should allow your skin to rest for 4 weeks. After this time you can repeat this pattern again until you reach your desired skin goals. The more times you repeat the process, the smoother and more diminished your wrinkles and other visible signs of ageing will appear.
The length of the treatment process and number of treatments required vary from person to person, depending on their skin and their goals. Start with an initial 8-week treatment programme, treating your skin 7 days a week. After this 8-week period, rest your skin for 4 weeks. If you wish to boost your results, complete the cycle again or until you have achieved your desired skin goals.
As with all beauty devices, they can have different effects on different people's skin. We highly recommend testing your device on your outer forearm at the treatment level you wish to use, before you treat your face. This will help you determine how suitable that level is for you. The device will likely cause a warm, prickling sensation, but the majority of users report that they become used to this after a few treatments. This is normal and not something to worry about. However, if you do have a reaction, such as blistering, pain or scabbing, do not use your Tria FRX. This type of reaction is very rare. For a full list of side effects, please consult your User Guide.
Our Tria FRX technology is suitable for use on all skin types / tones. However, the device should not be used by anyone under the age of 18, it has not been tested for safety on this age group. If you are pregnant, undergoing professional cosmetic treatments (such as a skin peel, clinical laser resurfacing, filler injections or similar), have a significant skin or medical condition, you have unusually sensitive skin, your skin easily breaks out in a rash or has adverse reactions to beauty products, or if you are taking a medicine such as steroids, you should consult your doctor or a medical professional before using the Tria FRX. The device should also not be used on skin that contains permanent make-up, tattoos, or that is infected, burned or cut. For further advice on usage of the device, please consult the User Guide.
No. It is not safe to use Tria FRX on or near tattoos. Use of the laser on tattoos could cause adverse side effects and serious injury.
Each full charge of the Tria FRX will give you around 45 minutes of treatment time, enough to last for around 5 days of treatments.
The Tria FRX is designed to be used on the face only. The FDA-clearance is based on facial use alone and we do not recommend using the device on any other body part, except for the top of your forearm, simply to test it on your skin before using it to treat your face.
We do not recommend you use the Tria FRX anywhere other than the specified treatment zones on your face. The FDA-clearance is based on facial use alone and we do not recommend using the device on any other body part, except for the top of your forearm, simply to test it on your skin before using it to treat your face.
The Tria FRX is designed for personal use only. We do not recommend sharing the device for hygiene reasons.
No, your Tria FRX is only tested and FDA-cleared for use on adults aged 18 or over. It should not be used by or on anyone below the age of 18 as the side effects and results have not been studied for this group and could result in negative side effects or serious injury. If they are over the age of 18, it is not recommended for you to share your device with anyone for hygiene reasons.

Frequently Asked Questions: Technology

Laser skin resurfacing, also known as laser skin rejuvenation, is a procedure that uses laser technology to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing wrinkles, scars, age spots, and other skin imperfections. There are a variety of different laser types and wavelengths that can be used to do this effectively. The Tria FRX uses a 1440nm wavelength, fractional non-ablative laser to treat your skin. It works through a process known as selective photothermolysis. This is the process whereby the laser targets water in the skin, creating Microthermal Treatment Zones (MTZs). Your body then heals these microscopic areas, creating new skin cells with increased collagen and elastin, reducing the multiple signs of ageing.
Yes, in-clinic laser resurfacing does hurt, particularly if it uses ablative lasers. However, the Tria FRX features innovative at-home technology, offering clinical-grade skin rejuvenation results from the comfort of the user's home. The device features a non-ablative fractional laser which is non-invasive, producing a prickling, warm sensation, rather than a painful burning pain that can come from in-clinic treatments. This, combined with it only leaving your skin mildly red for around an hour, means it is a much easier and safer alternative to in-clinic laser skin resurfacing treatments, with no down time needed to heal and no need to go to an expensive clinic.
Yes. It works below your skin's surface to create new skin cells with increased collagen and elastin. This helps plump and smooth the surface of your skin, leading to tighter, firmer skin with reduced fine lines and wrinkles.
We recommend a programme of treating your skin 7 days per week for 8 weeks, followed by 4 weeks of no treatments to give your skin time to fully heal. This is specific to the Tria FRX and treatment times and frequency will vary between methods and devices.
Healing time required after skin rejuvenating laser treatment varies between method and device. In the case of the Tria FRX, the visible signs of the treatment (pinker / redder skin) will subside after 1-2 hours. However, for full healing, we recommend a 4-week period of no treatments every 8 weeks. This will allow your skin to heal completely and allow you to see your final results from that treatment series.
Laser skin rejuvenation can be used to treat the multiple signs of ageing. The Tria FRX is clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture. Users have also noted a reduction in the appearance and depth of scar tissue such as acne scars, reduced appearance of pigmentation, and improved appearance of sun spots as well as generally leaving skin glowing, more radiant and appearing more youthful.
Ablative lasers remove the Dermis (top layer of the skin), then apply laser energy to the lower layers of tissue. This process can be painful and usually requires a significant period of downtime to recover and heal. These lasers are only safe to use in-clinics by professionals and should not be used at home.
Non-ablative lasers go through the Dermis (top layer of skin) leaving it intact. They apply laser energy to the Epidermis (layer below the Dermis). This still provides excellent results for skin rejuvenation and causes minimal downtime required to heal, perfect for at-home treatments. The Tria FRX uses a non-ablative fractional laser to treat the multiple signs of ageing.

    Amazing Results

I've tried other devices (RF and another type of at home laser), but the Tria Smooth Skin laser gives the best results. It's amazing. Initially, I did it every day for 8 weeks and saw a huge improvement -- tighter skin, fuller appearance, fewer lines, and many brown spots gone. Now, I use it about 1x week. I went for a period of months without using it, and I could tell. When I started using it again, I was once again impressed with the results. I use it on the highest level, which gives the best results, but it takes time to get up to that. At first I had to use numbing cream on my face after using it, but now I can tolerate it without. I can't do it before bed because my face is inflamed for about an hour, so I do it earlier. Given the inconvenience, I still find it so worth it! I'm 54 and am regularly told I look younger than 50. I'm so glad I made the investment.

    Surprising product !!

I bought Tria for pigments on my face. I was wondering if I should buy the product or not for 1 year checking YouTube and other people. The first treat gave me a result and now after several treatments, I can see the pigments are smaller and the color has been getting off!! And my skin is happy :)!

    Love Tria laser

Great results in just a few weeks. Takes a bit to work up tolerance but once you do, you will really look forward to the treatments. Smooths out texture and lines, evens out skin tone. Even took care of bags under my eyes. Hope I can use forever!

really seeing results within short period

Start seeing results within a month. it was quiet noticeable that my skin is getting way less pimples and breakouts. It does dry out the skin a bit but but enhances the absorption of all skin care products.

*Permanent results are defined as ‘a permanent reduction in hair regrowth’. i.e. a long-term stable reduction in hair counts following a full course of laser treatments.
